Yvette Macabuag has over 25 years of experience in development programming, particularly in the area of volunteer cooperation. She had roles with VSO Canada, Cuso International, Canada World Youth, Oxfam, and the International Citizen Service. Beginning her career as a youth volunteer in Mozambique, Yvette has gone on to work with corporate, diaspora, and youth as well as remote volunteers through community-based programmes in Africa, Asia, and South America. She has worked in programming focused on improving healthcare access and services, promoting good governance and advocating for gender quality and social inclusion of marginalised groups. Yvette thrives in collaborative environments and is committed to the mobilisation of knowledge to ensure we build on our strengths and successes as well as our failures. Yvette currently oversees programming at Cuso International as the Director for Program Quality and Impact.
