
Rahim Hassanali
Global V4D Leadership Manager, VSO and Project Coordinator of Standards Working Group, Forum
With 20 years of dedicated service in the charity sector, Rahim has achieved significant milestones. Notably, he played a pivotal role in coordinating the development, pilot, and launch of the Global Volunteering Standard, aimed at promoting responsible and impactful volunteering. Rahim’s leadership extended to organising Forum’s 2019 annual conference (IVCO), a gathering of 200 volunteering in development leaders in Kigali, Rwanda. Rahim assumed the role of UK lead for the International Volunteering for All Project (IVO4all) while at VSO, driving policy and practice enhancements across Europe to ensure disadvantaged young people’s greater access to international volunteering opportunities. His extensive experience includes collaborations with organisations such as Habitat for Humanity International, the Aga Khan Development Network, Tutu Foundation, Raleigh International, and The Prince’s Trust. His work has spanned 15 countries, earning him four prestigious awards and the privilege of private audiences with esteemed figures like HRH The Prince of Wales, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, in recognition of his contributions to the field.
