Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, Habitat for Humanity Kenya
Peris Mwangi has over four years of experience in development work in the non-profit sector. She holds a Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Kenyatta University. She is the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator at Habitat for Humanity Kenya, where she leads local and international volunteer activities. In her previous role as a programme manager at Humanity & Inclusion, Peris coordinated all of HI’s activities for the Professional Fellows Programme. Prior to her involvement with Fellowship programming, Peris worked as a team leader on the International Citizen Service (ICS) Program with VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) Kenya, promoting and facilitating inclusive employment of youth through volunteerism. She was key to building disability inclusion capacity of diverse cohorts of volunteers. Peris is passionate about placing the most vulnerable in marginalised societies at the centre of humanitarian and development interventions.
