Jonathan Hunter is the Regional Director for the Australian Volunteers Program Asia Archipelago region which includes the Philippines, Indonesia and Timor Leste. Jon has been working with International Volunteer Sending Organisations for over 20 years. Jon spent four years as a Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) volunteer in Indonesia, teaching electrical installation and developing renewable energy technologies.  After completing his volunteer assignment Jon managed VSO volunteers in Eastern Indonesia before spending two years with the Canadian volunteer organisation CUSO as Asia Pacific program manager supporting programming across a wide range of countries from Laos and Thailand to Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. Since 2007, Jon has been working with AVI managing the Australian Volunteers program in Indonesia before taking on the Regional Directors role in 2017. Jon has a BA in Criminology and Law and is a qualified electrician.
